The Work

Construction started with the masonry steps themselves — forming the structure and setting proper rise and run for both safety and everyday comfort, then tying the steps into a new landing. From there, work moved outward to the surrounding entrance area, where we prepared the base for the paver surface and formed the landing edge to match the new steps.

With the steps and landing complete, we installed a new paver walkway connecting the entrance to the driveway, using brick borders that echo the material used on the stairs so the whole approach feels intentional rather than assembled piecemeal. Every stage was built on proper excavation, base preparation, and drainage — the details that don’t show up in a finished photo but are exactly what determines whether an entrance holds up through freeze-thaw cycles or starts shifting again within a few years.

The completed project brought the steps, landing, and walkway together into a single, cohesive approach to the home — the kind of result that’s hard to get from repairing pieces separately over time.
